Reconstructive Surgery of the Lips
Cheiloplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at reconstructing the lips and giving them the function and aesthetics of a normal lip.
The causes for which such a need may occur are:
- The presence of benign or malignant tumors and then involves their removal by taking care to completely remove the lesion and reconstruct the lip;
- Patients born with a poorly formed labrum, for example in cleft lip or cleft palate already with outcomes of previous surgical repair or not;
- Outcomes of trauma, from a sharp weapon or in outcomes of motor vehicle accidents.
It should be noted that Dr. Ozeri does not perform infiltrations with lip fillers (fillers).
NOTE: In smokers, the healing time is usually prolonged and the risk of complications is higher.
